Unicorn Enterprise Development Cooperation Forum Successfully Held, Boosting Sino-Portuguese Economic and Trade Cooperation.

The Unicorn Enterprise Global Development Cooperation Forum was held at 3 pm on March 29th in the lecture hall of the second floor of the research headquarters building of Hengqin Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The forum brought together technology unicorn enterprises from China, Europe, America, international renowned investment institutions and representatives from Portuguese-speaking countries to explore global market opportunities and cooperation with Portuguese-speaking countries, highlighting the platform role of Greater Bay Area and Macao as well as the coordinated development of industries between Hengqin Island and Macao.

The opening ceremony was attended by guests including Secretary-General Ji Xianzheng from Permanent Secretariat for China-Portugal Forum (Macao), Deputy Minister Huang Shengbiao from Economic Affairs Department of Liaison Office of Central People's Government in Macao SAR, Cheong Chok Man from Policy Research and Regional Development Bureau in Macao SAR government, Lei Chi Wai from Economic Development Bureau in Hengqin Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park Management Committee, Lu Shangcheng representing Macau Chinese Enterprises Association (CCEA), Hu Dazhong Chairman of Small And Medium Enterprises Association Of Macau (SMEAM), Li Caihong President Of International Association For The Promotion Of Science And Technology In Portuguese-Speaking Countries(IAPSTP), ambassadors representing Portuguese-speaking countries' embassies delegation to China，President Of Macau International Investment Association(MIIA)，Chairman Henry NG From Dou Yuen Group Limited，Secretary-General Sun Wansong From International University Innovation Alliance（IUIA）and others.

After the opening ceremony there were unveiling ceremonies for "Macau Global Unicorn Innovation Cooperative Center"and"IUIA Global Unicorn Research Institute", marking that Macao will become an important partner for global unicorns and witnessing this historic moment, strengthening confidence and determination in cooperation on technological innovation.

During the signing ceremony, a strategic cooperation agreement was signed for the Global Unicorn Enterprise Alliance to build a platform for global unicorn enterprise exchange and cooperation, creating an ecosystem with international influence to cultivate unicorn enterprises.

Establishing a friendly platform for unicorn enterprises and Portuguese-speaking countries

Secretary-General Ji Xianzheng emphasized in his speech that as a multilateral cooperation mechanism between governments, the China-Portugal Forum has been committed to enhancing economic and trade cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries since its establishment in 2003. It plays a platform role in connecting Macau with China and Portuguese-speaking countries, promoting common development of mainland China, Macau, and Portuguese-speaking countries. Launching an "Infinite Technology Fund" with an issuance scale of $1 billion

President Ng wai ian announced at the forum that Dou Yuan Group will jointly initiate an industry fund invested in high-tech together with Macao International Investment Association (MIIA)and International University Innovation Alliance (IUIA). The fund named "Infinite Technology Fund" will have an issuance scale of $1 billion mainly investing into two directions: smart city ecological industrial chain; Web 3.0 - both investment directions have enormous potential for development which are significant to unicorn enterprises as well as global economy. Moreover it will introduce international capital while integrating domestic & foreign high-tech industrial chains.The vision behind launching this fund is to make technology better serve humanity by creating better lives through building modernized green smart cities.

Building Sino-Portuguese Unicorn Research Institute

Secretary-General Sun Wansong stated during his speech that IUIA would collaborate with universities & research institutions along with leading enterprises in artificial intelligence and digital economy to build Sino-Portuguese Unicorn Research Institute. The goal is to create a new type of innovative research institution with international leading integration of industry, academia and research. It will integrate innovation resources from different regions around the world, draw on advanced concepts and experiences internationally, unite universities & attract high-end talents to build China-Portuguese-speaking countries unicorn industrial-academic-research platform etc. Cities & parks are important carriers for innovation entrepreneurship community; organizing national high-tech zones and national-level development zones in various cities while uniting unicorn enterprises according to the industrial characteristics of Portuguese-speaking countries, building "China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Unicorn Industrial Park".

Portuguese-speaking countries, mainland China, and Macau enterprises can build a cooperative network through the construction of the Hengqin Deep Cooperation Zone

Maria Gustava, head of the Portuguese Embassy in China, stated that due to global digitization trends and technological development, start-ups are becoming increasingly important. The cooperative network between Portuguese-speaking countries, mainland China and Macau can be interconnected through cooperation zones. Such cooperation can also help attract foreign investors to invest in start-ups in Portuguese-speaking countries.

The keynote speech invited six unicorn companies from France, the United States, China and other places to discuss topics such as the development status and market overview of unicorn companies; innovative development of Chinese unicorn companies; building a new model for Sino-Portuguese cultural tourism cooperation based on Hengqin; relying on Hengqin and Sino-Portuguese relations to create lung health unicorn enterprises; Sino-Portuguese vocational education cooperation platform.

The organizers stated that this forum is a very important event aimed at promoting diversified economic development in Macau, strengthening cooperation between Macau and Portuguese-speaking countries as well as Greater Bay Area (GBA), and promoting regional economic development. This forum is also an important opportunity to showcase Macau's advantages as an international city which plays a positive role in shaping its image internationally. It is believed that this exchange and collaboration during this forum will inject new vitality into science & technology innovation as well as economic growth for both Macau and Portuguese-speaking countries.
